To all the women of the world, this strong ass body just ran a half marathon in 1 hour 42 minutes and 10 seconds. That’s fast AF. So the next time you look at a health and fitness ad that showcases a model who looks nothing like you, remember this: Strength doesn’t look a certain way, it feels a certain way. Don’t just love the skin you’re in, do everything you can to work towards a stronger tomorrow both physically and mentally. Stop working out to lose weight. Do it to be the healthiest, strongest, happiest, and most badass version of yourself possible. If anyone needs me, I’m gonna go celebrate this huge personal best. STRONG AS F*CK. #RunSelfieRepeat #SportsBraSquad #stravaambassador #oiselle #badassladygang (at New York, New York)

The reason #idaretobare is because my body is strong beautiful and capable at any size and deserves to be celebrated. I have flabby skin and don’t have six pack abs, but I’ve run marathons, tap danced for hours and am capable of so much because I don’t limit myself because of my size. It doesn’t take the “perfect body” to be happy. I am proud of my body and encourage everyone to find happiness with your body at all stages and sizes. (at San Francisco, California)

OWN YOUR #BELLYJELLY. JOIN OUR REVOLUTION.

We challenge the status quo by being radically honest about our bodies. We bare our #bellyjelly to show others that it’s strength, grace and grit that lies underneath. We work hard. We fight hard. We sweat hard. To start a revolution where we feel powerful in the skin we’re in. (at San Francisco, California)

Who’s ready? ‘Dare To Bare’ is Movemeant Foundation’s flagship outdoor charity fitness event and the largest body-positive event across the country. Together, we 'dare’ ourselves to overcome the fears of our physical appearance in celebration of our physical strength, emotional fortitude, mental grit and self-love. We move. We sweat. We dance. And we shed not just our shirts, but our insecurities—proving that bodies of all shapes and sizes are healthy and capable. Register for SF (link in profile): http://my.movemeant.org/DTBSF2017

WHY SHOULD I 'DARE TO BARE’?

We’re in the midst of an epidemic. By middle school, 40-70 percent of girls are dissatisfied with two or more parts of their body, and body satisfaction hits rock bottom between the ages of 12 and 15. To compound body dissatisfaction, 51.7% of women reported no participation in any physical activity.

With each dollar raised, we are able to offer grants to schools, communities and other non-profit organizations—providing women across the country with opportunities to move in ways they never thought possible. With more than 20 million girls in the US between 5-18 that could use some movemeant, this is just the start of our work. (at San Francisco, California)

#IDareToBare because I’ve spent enough time hiding behind my insecurities. After spending years grappling with an eating disorder and other body image issues, I finally said enough is enough and decided to take my life into my own hands. Choosing to be body positive is hard as we are often our own worst critic. In my case, my body image issues held me back from being the person I wanted to be and doing the things I loved. Once I learned to let go of all of the negativity and be kind to myself, my whole world changed. Today, 4 years into my recovery, I am happier and healthier than I have ever been and I have 0 intentions of reverting to my old ways. In the wise words of Ru Paul (and my own personal mantra) “if you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?!” (at SoulCycle Financial District)

Mover @deirdre_94123 says: #idaretobare because I have struggled with body image issues my entire life. It has taken me way too long to learn to love my body and my physical strength – to focus on all the amazing things that I can do. Through Dare to Bare, I am excited to be part of a cause that helps girls embrace the body that they have and strive for the inner and outer strength that regular exercise provides.
